Arising from an update on the weather the Minister for Education and Science, Batt O’Keeffe TD, has decided that the normal arrangements whereby schools decide to open or close based on local circumstances should be re-instated.
St. Oliver’s will remain closed on Tuesday 11th January and will re-open on Wednesday 13th of January.

The Minister for Education and Science, Batt O’Keeffe TD, has told all primary and post-primary schools to close on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week due to the bad weather . As a result our school will be closed on Monday 11th of January, Tuesday 12th of January, Wednesday the 13th of January.

This year the commitment service for the children receiving the sacrament of confirmation will take place on Saturday 7th of November in St. Oliver’s Church during the 7:30p.m. vigil mass.

On Wednesday 4th of November 2009, the school was due to close at 2p.m. for all pupils. However, the Department Inspectors involved in the Whole School Evaluation now wish to meet the staff for a follow up meeting. This meeting is scheduled to occur between 1:15p.m. and 3p.m., therefore the school will now finish at 12:30p.m.
